What problem does the idea help to solve and how does your solution work? (2,000 characters maximum)

The different ideas of rehabilitation and employment of people with disabilities submitted in this proposal are based on a shift from the classic mode of training people with disabilities in rehabilitation centers specific to them, whereby scientific research has proven that once people with disabilities are placed into jobs they are faced with difficulties of reality of work. This proposal provides practical solutions based on interactive employment with its work environment and on the job, whereby rehabilitation here covers a comprehensive dimension that aims at developing the capacities of people with disabilities according to occupation to fit their mental and physical status in addition to providing proper job opportunities where it can allow them to become participating and productive individuals.

Building Bridges: What bridge does your idea build between people on the move and neighbors towards a shared future of stability and promise? (500 characters)

this project idea was created to be based on the optimal goal of empowering people with disabilities in the local society and provide logistic and financial support to them to start up their own business in addition to providing skill training needed to develop their skills in aims at finding them a job or proper profession based on their interests and abilities to become participating citizens similar to other segments of society.

What human need is your idea solving for? (1,000 characters)

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that around (10%) of population of each country in the world are those with disabilities, which indicates that Jordan has around (750,000) people with disabilities. The report also indicates that around (80%) are economically inactive. Based on the above, this three dimensional project idea was produced where it focuses on choosing (150) people with disabilities and targets them with capacity building, training and employment programs

What will be different within the community of focus as a result of implementing your idea? (1,000 characters)

This proposal provides practical solutions based on interactive employment with its work environment and on the job, whereby rehabilitation here covers a comprehensive dimension that aims at developing the capacities of people with disabilities according to occupation to fit their mental and physical status in addition to providing proper job opportunities where it can allow them to become participating and productive individuals.

What is the inspiration behind your idea? (1,000 characters)

The proposed Idea will would bridge that gap between persons with disabilities and the job market and help Jordanian families deal with their members with disabilities. Persons with disabilities would be helped through practical and skills related training before entering the job market. They would be given equal job opportunities and empowered and enabled to actively contribute to their society through their direct employment in the participating factories and establishments. People with disabilities will be given job opportunities after making the needed case studies to ensure that they fill the suitable jobs within workplace safety and health conditions.

Describe the dynamics of the community in which the idea is to be implemented. (1,000 characters)

The Jordanian job market is a reflection of the economy of Jordan. It suffers huge discrepancies due to the selective economic policies that the successive government adopted during the last two decades. Unemployment rate reached to 18% during the fourth quarter of 2018. The job market also suffers many problems including the foreign labor, Syrian refugees, and the low percentage of women economic participation (less than 14% in 2018) it also suffers the lack of qualification in its two types, skills and technical qualification, for job seekers and the gap between education output and the job market needs.

How does your idea leverage and empower community strengths and assets to help create an environment for success? (1,000 characters)

The idea of the project is based on the great importance of empowering individuals with disabilities in the community and providing the necessary training to develop their skills in order to help them find jobs or professions that suite their abilities and their desires. The ultimate goal is to help them contribute to the development of Jordan and help them become active citizens as others. The ideas that the project offers to rehabilitate and employee persons with disabilities are non-traditional and don’t rely on training them in the special training centers. Practical experience proved that these people face many troubles in the work environment when they actually get employed. Rehabilitation here refers to the inclusive concept that aims to develop and improve the abilities of these people and help them take the jobs that suit their mental and physical abilities. It helps them find jobs to become more independent, productive and adaptive.

Hi Omar Alakhras! i'm super excited to find this great idea on this platform. Well, the plight of disabled persons across different territories appears a global conspiracy generally accepted by the entire society. Sadly, the society defines disability as liability, yet they are not living up-to its challenge. Trust me, within disability are innate potentials and resilience to cope with all of them, but the society ignorantly and adamantly subject disabled persons to unnecessary life of poverty, illiteracy, social rejection, economic exclusion, destitution, street begging, among others. Yes; disability is not inability or liability. In an enabling atmosphere of overall acceptance, prerequisite training, and provision of opportunities, there is resourcefulness in disability. I will like to collaborate with your organisation in all possible means, online and offline. Once again, thanks for this unique idea.
