What problem does the idea help to solve and how does your solution work? (2,000 characters maximum)

Religion has shined its hottest ray of light on the girl child. Poverty and sugar daddies have taking advantage on the girl child since religion never gave the girl child right to equality towards the male genders. How can religion narrow the value of a girl child to farming, kitchen, early marriage and child bearing? The poor are so loyal to religion which gave the sugar daddies opportunity to offer their give and take help to these vulnerable girls that resulted in sleeping with these girls, not forgetting that most of these sugar daddies are HIV and AIDS carriers, a situation I was a victim of and wouldn’t want others girls out there to suffer the way I suffered because i saw hell in a way i started questioning my existence but through hard work and determination i scared through. My project is to give a defense and protection to the entire girl child by offering a scholarship and organizing a teaching and training class in Mpatenim LGAs Akwa Ibom State Nigeria also raise a governing board that includes lawyers and human right activists who will make sure that sugar daddies will face the wrath of the law and cause a stern redress of this menace among these sugar daddies. I was found is a religious community were female are giving less attention but the male child have the highest value of attention which resulted a total discrimination between a male and a female,my life was a disaster, i struggled to train myself in school, doing all kinds of businesses starting from selling on the street just to raise school fees and feeding,i dropped out of school several times just because of school fees,no consecration due to the problem of what to eat, were to sleep and how to pay school fee, some of the men i meet never gave their help without a demand for sex,all these hit me so much but i succeeded getting myself back to school which my organisation is here to give help to all this girls who are facing the kind of trouble i faced by giving them scholarship, appealing to the religious leaders to revisit some of the laws that have a bad omen to female child and also to stop the activities of sugar daddy which they utilized through the vulnerability of these girls

Hi Rachael Toby! What a thoughtful design, i must confess. But if a normal girl child is going through these harrowing ordeals, what could be the sexual experience of disabled girls with sugar daddies, bitter daddies, hoodlums, among others? Considering their predominant but neglected social rejection and abandonment, poverty, illiteracy, destitution, street begging, etc. So, is there any provision in this design to accommodate their special needs?

life is the best when you help others to develop their potentials and without your help a journey of i meter can take a whole one thousand years.

Hi Rachael Toby

Thanks for the reply. I hope you found the resources suggestd by Bremley Lyngdoh  useful. I would love your thoughts. As the idea phase will be coming to a close soon, I wonder if you could:
1. Share with us how you plan to target and reach out to these vulnerable girls and share with us how they are directly connected with the people on the move
2. It might be great to plan out a small activity to test out your idea on the ground, and share with us some insights.

I would recommend looking again at the challenge brief: the community research toolkit: and the prototyping toolkit:

Hi Rachael Toby you have such a powerful personal story that carries a lot if weight and I would love to hear more about your team about what steps you intend to take to engage the girls in your community or perhaps build a partnership with other groups doing similar work in your region of the work. Take a look at the work of TOCEV with single moms in Turkish prisons as an example and

Dear Rachel,
Your idea is quite inspiring.
Really challenging to influence peoples mindset ,particularly girls who are marginalised by culture, religion and phycological differences.
I will appreciate if you would share more of your collaborative effort that brings together all stakeholders in order to bring a lasting solution to challenges faced by young girls in your community.
