What problem does the idea help to solve and how does your solution work? (2,000 characters maximum)

Our idea seeks to help in the entire migration process faced by people who go out to seek an economic improvement, outside their country, this due to the economic or social problems that their country of origin may be facing, starting as case study of migration of Venezuelans to other cities in Latin America, for example so far more than 800,000 Venezuelans have arrived in Peru, mostly by land, suffering a long and difficult journey, as well as arriving and some under the danger of not having where to arrive or how to perform. This problem of misinformation is the one that causes migrants the most sorrow, not knowing the destination, traveling only by recommendations rather than by exact and necessary data to make a decision, and then upon arriving at the destination not having an official means to communicate with with your countrymen and to exchange good or bad experiences. There is great uncertainty on the part of migrants before, during and after making their trip to another country, so the “community” platform initially seeks to be a guide with all the necessary information to be able to make the trip with greater peace of mind, information nourished by professionals from different areas, and by the migrants themselves, who will share experiences and councils for migrants, this as a first stage, for a second stage we will seek to contact local volunteers, who will be trained online, and who will help to realize face-to-face meetings, before and after the trip, generating a communication of migrants and having a link with local citizens. Finally, all the information that is expected to be collected will help both the public sector, government, and the private sector, in order to be able to prepare and receive migrants who are willing to travel, as well as to have statistics and real data on the migration process so timely.

Geography of focus (500 characters)

The platform is aimed at migrants from Latin America, who travel looking for work improvements for themselves and their families, having to travel out of necessity.

Building Bridges: What bridge does your idea build between people on the move and neighbors towards a shared future of stability and promise? (500 characters)

Emphasis is placed on communication, which is very important for decision-making by migrants and the leaders of the state to which they are traveling. Knowing the number of people and their characteristics will help build predictive models, and not only that, since the same people will feel closer to their compatriots who travel, due to the community that is formed.

What human need is your idea solving for? (1,000 characters)

Thanks to the creation of a community, it is hoped to achieve more confidence and tranquility when people want to take a trip

What will be different within the community of focus as a result of implementing your idea? (1,000 characters)

It is expected a stage of dissemination of the platform and then with the registered and the content that will generate quantitatively measure, the number of migrants destinations consulted, professional profile, reasons for traveling, etc, with it and with surveys online from time to time, measure your level of satisfaction or concern during the migration process.

What is the inspiration behind your idea? (1,000 characters)

Our inspiration is similar to the video that we attach to the present, there are many difficulties that the Venezuelan people are going through, who decide to travel to different cities, get a tool that shows them the panorama and helps them to contact them with other migrants, it will be a great help to them, and could be replicated for many more people who think of traveling.

Describe the dynamics of the community in which the idea is to be implemented. (1,000 characters)

Video example of the problem that arises due to the misinformation of migrants.

What other partners or stakeholders will work alongside you in implementing the idea, if any? (1,000 characters)

It is expected to work in the future with volunteers from various cities, who will receive courses and recognition for their collaboration, as well as we hope to work with the government to provide relevant information for decision-making.

Hi Marvin, Thank you for your information. If I might suggest an improvement for the future would be to always include photos and video in applications when you have the chance. Your goals of reducing the need for economic refugees are very positive. I would be interested in your thoughts on our project too: https://challenges.openideo.com/challenge/2019-bridgebuilder-challenge/ideas/haitian-biomass-stoves-to-help-refugees-worldwide-keep-haitians-from-becoming-refugees-with-local-jobs-while-also-utilizing-refugee-labor
