What problem does the idea help to solve and how does your solution work? (2,000 characters maximum)

Both mass and gradual migrations create a complex problem hard to solve that includes low quality of life, chaotic cities, limitations in development and pobertty. A problem that is costing money and infraestructure to give temporal "solutions" and not a real life with oportunities for the people. Our initiative provides a permanent solution of homes that can be addapted into the city, productive, healthy, and cheap. In addition to this it gives also an opportunity for this people to work and grow. Starting from the construction it eliminates the necessity of drain infraestructure by using a biodigester capable to use human waste as resource, using a light framing modular constructions allow us to produce this homes easy, fast and cheap. By desing allows this people to learn and being able to work in it with only some months of training. As a prodductive home it includes a biodigester that produces fertilizer and gas for cooking and heating, an aquaponic production systems that grows fish, vegetables as fodder for smaller animals. A system taht produces healthy high quality organic food with almost no waste. Developing a decentralized production community that solves the economic, social, and health problem generated by mass and gradual migrations.

Geography of focus (500 characters)

Although this initiative was born in Lima for displaced people from provinces that arrive in cities like Lima from provinces and remote areas. It would also be the solution for the countries that are hosting the Venezuelan exodus. The need for safe, sustainable housing and food production is a serious problem to which we give a simple solution.

Building Bridges: What bridge does your idea build between people on the move and neighbors towards a shared future of stability and promise? (500 characters)

As a not intrusive or competitive sector, being instead a complementary sector, it doesn't generates any conflict with the local people. It gives an inmediate integration to society as a source of local development by generating commercial and social relationships that facilitates communication, knowledge and integration. It brings them to society in a not exclusive solution but a organized and socialy friendly solution.

What human need is your idea solving for? (1,000 characters)

Solving for the displaced people, not only within the country itself but also from another country, their basics needs of housing, food, and health. Providing them a secure place to live. And integreating them in society as a carrier of local develpoment. Providing safe, open and organized places to socialice as a comunity. Giving them not only a house but a home to be proud of and feel good with themself by earning by themself a life that every human deserves. All of this without stepping in their way of personal development and success.

What will be different within the community of focus as a result of implementing your idea? (1,000 characters)

This initiative generates development for all by using new technologies in the construcction and producction sector avaliable for everyone, residets and newcomers. In addition to minimize the impact of immigration, it generates development and employment for all. With the creation of new businesses that arise from having the basics need solved, and economic means to invest. We will know how this proyects is evolving by analizing its grow and development in the quality of life of the community. A community that will developt knowledge, production, and oportunities integrated in the society.

What is the inspiration behind your idea? (1,000 characters)

This initiative arises from my knowledge as a former official of the Municipality of the district of Comas in Lima in Peru. It was my responsibility to provide a solution to the problems of more than 600,000 people with more than 40% living in conditions of poverty or extreme poverty in unsanitary and unsafe human settlements.I presented a paper addressing this problem and providing the solution in November 2018 at the International Congress of Architecture and Engineering of the César Vallejo University. With a huge acceptance by the attending students giving them a hope in change.

Describe the dynamics of the community in which the idea is to be implemented. (1,000 characters)

In principle we are promoting the implementation of this initiative in several human settlements of the Comas district in Lima Peru. Where we have more than 850 human settlements. In this district we are starting to raise awareness and search for investors, although we are already having applications from other districts and provinces, especially from places far from the mountains of Peru, and the jungle as a solution to the problem of malnutrition and poverty. We want to develop the start program in some communities where the majority are single mothers who have to move to work in other distant districts of Lima. As throughout the country, the massive arrival of Venezuelans, the product of Venezuela's economic, political and social situation, joins this problem.

How does your idea leverage and empower community strengths and assets to help create an environment for success? (1,000 characters)

Our community is formed by young families that dream of a better world for them. They have moved in a hope of change and success. Their willpower and work cappailities allow them to grow and work for their dreams in a safe, healthy and integrated development. As a community that want a better world and place for them they are more than motivated to have a place in this world that accpets them and let them grow as individuals.

What other partners or stakeholders will work alongside you in implementing the idea, if any? (1,000 characters)

We are currently a group of urban planners, architects, engineers and technicians from different specialties with extensive experience. We also want to work with diverse communities arround the world as companies that brings technologies to the grow and improvement in our proyect.

What part of the displacement journey is your solution addressing

  • Arriving and settling at a destination community

Tell us how you'd describe the type of innovation you are proposing

  • Systems design: Solutions that target changing larger system

Idea Proposal Stage

  • Pilot: We have started to implement the idea as a whole with a first set of real users. The feasibility of an innovation is tested in a small-scale and real world application (i.e. 3-15% of the target population)

Tell us more about your group or organization [or lived experience as a displaced person?] (1000 characters)

We as a group have being living and understanding with this communities for years. Sharing and studying the root problems that they have. This proyects stands in our group not as a final work but as a part of us that will grow and improve over time as we learn more and find new technologies that can help us to bring a new world more inclusive, ecofriendly, healthy, ethical, and right for every human and community. We have been understanding and finding the best way to help this communities for years making use not only of our large experience but the knowledge of diferent areas as desing, architecture, engieniers, computer science and social knowledge. Hello Adolfo Luque, we at NDEF Cameroon have read with interest your idea striving to solve human problems in Peru.

We feel that you could adopt expand on the agroforestry practices to better deliver a package encompassing food crops, tree crops and small livestock with man at the centre. A juxtaposition of these components would lead to symbiotic relationships with mutual benefits. Food crops would provide short term benefits; small ruminants would provide benefits in the medium term while tree crops would provide benefits in the long term. Useful trees serve as the farmers’ insurance cover (pension). We see you are already doing a lot including aquaponics. That's great!

On tree planting, you could adopt vegetative propagation techniques such as grafting and air-layering to produce fruit tree seedlings which deliver fruits in two to three years after planting. In this way, young persons (who are often not patient enough to wait for a long time) will get results of their agribusinesses sooner than later. Nkeng Pius (Executive Director)

Certainly friend, thanks for your comment. Agroforestry practices are included with the production of the Paulownia tree.
