Many young girls in refugees and host communities in Kigoma are face problem of lack of code skills, lack of computers and internet access due to poor access to electricity in their training places such as schools and colleges. This problem hinders the young girls in schools to advancing in the modern world and becoming a global presence. It is absolutely necessary for the young girls in schools to have computers and access to internet in order to become more employable and educated. Young girls in refugees in Kigoma have low literacy rates of 76.4%. They value education, but they are held back severely by their inability to connect to the internet. Using internet cafes, young girls and graduates in refugees and host communities can broaden their education and learn to use computers greatly increasing their employability. For this to occur it is essential to constructing solar-powered internet stations which will provide a solution to all of these challenges through affordable internet connection. We will also runs immersive coding boot camps for young girls to teach them market-relevant skills to help them enter the rapidly growing technology industry. Through this project the 200 girls, aged between 12 and 18, will be supported by female mentors - Through building connections between the girls and women already working in the technology industry, the project hopes to inspire and encourage more women, who may not have considered a career in technology, to continue into the industry. The coding projects developed by the girls as part of this initiative will be showcased in an open-source.

What human need is your idea solving for? (1,000 characters)
There is incredible need of code skill to young girls in refugees and host communities. Also there is credible need for faster internet access for kigoma refugees and their host communities. Their preferred method of communication is currently through social media. To connect to social media, they do not use laptops, but rather mobile phones. These mobile phones are supposedly connected to a 3G network, but only offer connection speeds of 520 kbps. Proper internet connections in this internet cafe will be able to provide connection speeds of 25 mbps, nearly 50 times faster. It will also allow the refugees and host communities to connect using laptops rather than mobile phones, making the connectivity experience much more enjoyable and enriching.
What will be different within the community of focus as a result of implementing your idea? (1,000 characters)
Having affordable access to the internet would be of great value to the community. They will be able to improve their code literacy and also take advantage of the limitless breadth of knowledge available through the internet. There is great value in having a location for people to meet and share ideas and success starting small-business innovation groups. Having a solar-powered meeting location with internet access will greatly increase the flow of ideas and benefit the community as a whole.

What other partners or stakeholders will work alongside you in implementing the idea, if any? (1,000 characters)
1. Internet Providers: Tanzania has many internet service providers most of whom are regional. Once a location for the cafe is established, we can talk to providers that operate in that area to work out an internet plan for that location. One type of plan that might prove useful is a wireless-to-building plan, designed for providing internet in remote locations. Paying for internet by gigabyte will also be preferred. These plans tend to offer the highest speeds and since, users will not be downloading large amounts of data, will be most cost effective.
Additionally, many of the world’s largest corporations, like Google and Facebook, have projects to provide internet to those in areas without it.
2. Utility Providers: An electricity provider is not necessary. However, this location will still need water for the bathroom and the kitchen
Hardware Providers: Google just recently launched new chromebooks.
