What problem does the idea help to solve and how does your solution work? (2,000 characters maximum)

One family one girl project aims to care, carter, rehabilitate and empower 200 women and girls with skills and education as to reinstate them into the main stream of the society as to become contributors to the development of their respective communities and Africa in general. Most of the vulnerable women and girl children identified under this scheme within rural communities, ghettos, slums fall within $0.5 range and as such unveils the poverty level of this families coupled with the lack of educational amenities (skill centres inclusive). As such, with the availability of education and skills, these great minds who have become preys, are empowered to pursue their respective dreams within urban communities. The most intriguing part of this project is the establishment of mini skill acquisition centre that services these communities where more beneficiaries can always be empowered subsequently.

Geography of focus (500 characters)

One family one girl prohect is solely for rural communities, ghettos, slums within Malawi and within our frame work other 19 countries viz a viz Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Mauritania, Mali, Cameroon, ivory coast , Niger etc targeted at women and girls alone as the most vulnerable species of violence in different facets.

Building Bridges: What bridge does your idea build between people on the move and neighbors towards a shared future of stability and promise? (500 characters)

Ghacaf through one family one girl project aims to educationally and with skill empower at least 200 women and girls to pursue their dreams anf become contributors to their communities and Africa in general. Ghacaf goes beyond care to establishment where potentials are unveiled and maximised through coaching, mentorship etc.

What human need is your idea solving for? (1,000 characters)

One family one girl project aims to end skill and educational part to poverty and deprivation within slums, ghettos, and rural communities especially as it relates to Malawi where women and girls are victims in large numbers accruing to 67%

What will be different within the community of focus as a result of implementing your idea? (1,000 characters)

With this project being implemented, 200 women and girls in dire need of care , will get to pursue their dream courses in colleges of education, universities and some skill acquisition centres while they get empowered with relevant tools to practice what skills they have acquired. As such, gabbages (if acceptable) are turned into wealth creators

What is the inspiration behind your idea? (1,000 characters)

One family one girl project is born out of the quest to help government ameliorate the sufferings of these great minds who are incessantly neglected due to limited resources. We anticipate a society where both people in the rural and urban communities enjoy same dividend as citizens of the countries and not on the basis of geographical location.

Describe the dynamics of the community in which the idea is to be implemented. (1,000 characters)

The rural communities identified within the frame work of this project especially the ghettos, slums have women and girls who are given to early Marriages, early child birth and most feed on crumbs becoming engaged in life hazarding ventures. With this project, we can say no to some of this societal vices including rape, assault etc.

How does your idea leverage and empower community strengths and assets to help create an environment for success? (1,000 characters)

Ghacaf under one family one girl project not only cares and empower the identified families with education and skill, we also protect their rights through our collaboration with agencies saddled with the responsibility in order to avoid subsequent marginalization as has always been the case. With this, our target audience (women and girls) will get empowered and also be given a voice to speak for them when need arises.

Give her a chance Africa foundation is a women led organization with a mandate to restoring hope to the African girl child by providing help, care, rehabilitation , empowerment to the disadvantaged women and girls especially within rural communities, slums, ghettos. Ghacaf is currently in over 20 countries within Africa including our target country (Malawi) through its country directorship made up of seasoned members of young African leadership initiative and Obama foundation. The country directors who must be direct indigenes of host communities are the implementing agents through renowned members of the community (pastors or imams) who act as supervising agent with overall oversight function of the Nigeria HQ
