Over the course of the Urban Resilience Challenge, we'll be featuring highlights of contributions from each of our themed mission areas. This week, we've seen an incredible number of inspirations and thought-starters from our global community. As the Ideas Phase progresses, we would love for you to spread the word and invite organizations working within these focus areas to join the challenge!
Mission 1: Communication
OneYouth OneHeart – A co-creation program in Uganda that brings refugee youths together to share ideas and implement solutions for climate-related challenges in their communities
Mission 2: Small-Scale Infrastructure
Vertical Agriculture System – A low-cost vertical agriculture system that captures stormwater to mitigate flood risks and grow food for urban slum communities
Mission 3: Community
Survival Girls – A training program to teach girls survive-and-thrive skills in urban slums vulnerable to natural disasters
Mission 4: Maximizing Limited Water Supply
Solar Powered Water ATMs – A system of solar powered ATM machines that provides up to 30 liters of clean drinking water per family each day
We’re looking forward to seeing your ideas for bringing resilience innovation to urban slum communities. Join the challenge to support communities as they adapt and transform to meet the challenges of climate change!
