Amplify Challenges are global conversations. We're connecting networks of NGOs, social entrepreneurs, educators, designers and students around the world – and working closely with communities to do this. In the Refugee Education Challenge, we have community roles in Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan and Uganda. They'll be familiar faces in this challenge, contributing research posts, blogs and feedback. IN-COUNTRY COMMUNITY MANAGERS
Our In-Country Community Managers (ICCMs) work in their home countries to activate local innovation and encourage local organizations, experts, and individuals to participate in the Challenge. Throughout the challenge they'll be conducting research, holding workshops and supporting organizations to refine their ideas. They bring a wealth of local expertise and are connecting a local networks of educators,designers, non profits and social entrepreneurs to our challenge.
Our Community Champions live in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Established in 1992, Kakuma hosts over 180,000 refugees from more than six nationalities. Community Champions are from Somalia, Burundi and Rwanda and are truly committed to strengthening their communities.Throughout the Refugee Education Challenge they will be sharing interviews with Kakuma community members, holding workshops for residents to share their experiences, develop and prototype ideas.
