The OpenIDEO community has already stepped up in a big way for the Research phase of our new Youth Employment Challenge. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to two awesome members of our community who you’ll see contributing and collaborating quite a bit over the course of the challenge as volunteers.  Meet Shane Zhao, our Challenge Community Ambassador, and Matthew Bird, our Challenge Community Advisor.

Shane is our Community Ambassador. He's an architect and urban designer who is tackling critical urban problems in developing regions around the world. You might have seen him in previous challenges, like the Recycling Challenge, where his idea was among the eight winning ideas. As a Community Ambassador, Shane will support the community by building on contributions, connecting community members and blogging insights on the platform.

Shane's Protip: There is a great deal of power in the rapid feedback loops that take place here on the platform – Get more great insight from our Q&A with Shane as we deep dive with this awesome new addition to our team.

Matthew is a Professor in the Graduate School at the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru, where he addresses social change and impact evaluation challenges. As a Community Advisor, Matthew will be particularly active during our Research phase, where he will be sharing his insights and inspiring conversation through original Research posts, as well as building on research initiated by the OpenIDEO community.

"Human-centered design provides a methodology that allows us to continue to approach the world with the wonder of an exploratory child." Check out more of Matthew's thoughts on OpenIDEO in our Q & A session.

Welcome to the team Shane and Matthew! We look forward to all of the awesome insights and additions that we're sure you'll bring to the challenge. Thanks for joining us as we tackle Youth Employment with CGI.
