After just over two months, our Vibrant Cities Challenge has come to a close – and what an engaging and inspiring journey it’s been!
Together we shared 894 inspirations and designed 331 concepts to bring vibrancy to communities around the world. It was a tough decision, but thanks to your applause, comments and conversation, OpenIDEO and Steelcase identified 20 shortlisted concepts to move on to Refinement and Evaluation. Now, thanks again to your evaluation feedback, we’re pleased to announce our 11 Winning Concepts!
But first, a big congratulations to our entire community on your stellar work during this challenge’s Refinement and Evaluation phases. In particular, we loved the thorough detail and thoughtfulness that you brought to the conversation – through your builds, suggestions, and even some in-the-field interviews and observations, you wowed us with your collaborative efforts. And did we mention that over 780 evaluations were submitted!? All in all, we were so impressed and inspired by your level of engagement and participation throughout this Challenge.
Without further ado, congrats to our Winning Concepts and the community members who developed them:
